FAQ´s

  • The Canary Islands have a mild climate year-round, making them an excellent filming location at any time. However, the best time to film depends on what you’re looking for:

Best Overall Time: Late Spring & Early Autumn (April - June & September - October)

    • Mild temperatures (average 20-25°C)

    • Less tourist traffic, making it easier to access locations

    • Long daylight hours (especially in spring)

    • Stable weather conditions, with minimal rain

Best for Sunny, Summer-Like Scenes: May - October

    • Warm temperatures (25-30°C)

    • Minimal rain, mostly dry conditions

    • Perfect for beach, desert, and summer-themed shoots

Best for Dramatic Landscapes & Green Scenery: December - March

    • More greenery in areas like La Palma and Tenerife due to seasonal rains

    • Cooler temperatures, especially in higher altitudes

    • Snow on Mount Teide, great for winter or alpine scenes

    Other Considerations

    • Winds: Stronger in July and August, especially in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.

    • Tourist Crowds: December - February (winter escape tourists) and July - August (summer vacationers) can make popular spots busier.

    • Budget & Availability: Off-peak months (April-May, September-October) might offer better rates for accommodations and permits.

  • Since the first large-scale Hollywood productions arrived in the Canary Islands in 2011, the film industry has expanded year after year, strengthening its infrastructure and workforce.

    Current Infrastructure Includes::

    • Modern Facilities: The Canary Islands offer state-of-the-art studios, post-production facilities, and high-tech equipment rentals.

    • Skilled Professionals: An ever-growing pool of experienced local crew, including technicians, production staff, and artists, is available to support productions of all scales.

    • Government Support: Competitive tax incentives (up to 54% rebate), streamlined permitting processes, and dedicated assistance from local film commissions make filming in the Canary Islands highly attractive.

    • Accessibility: Excellent transport links, including international airports and well-connected road networks across all islands, ensure smooth logistics for productions.

Many of these professionals have worked on major international productions, contributing to the region’s booming film industry.

Due to the number of simultaneous productions taking place in the Canary Islands, booking crew early is essential to secure the best talent. In the rare case that specific roles are unavailable, we can arrange for experienced crew from mainland Spain to join the production.

  • Yes, the Canary Islands have several professional film studios equipped with modern facilities for productions of all sizes. These include soundstages, water tanks, VFX and post-production facilities, as well as high-end equipment rentals.

  • Item description
  • The Canary Islands have a mild, dry climate with very little rainfall throughout the year, especially in the southern parts of the islands. However, precipitation can vary depending on location, altitude, and season.

Overall, the dry, stable climate makes the Canary Islands an ideal filming location, with minimal weather disruptions. If rain is ever a concern, accurate weather forecasts and local production teams help plan around any potential showers.

As Norbert always says, in his 30 years of filming in the Canaries, he’s only ever had to cancel and reschedule two shoot days. This goes to say that if you choose to shoot with us, your chances of sunshine are greatly increased! 😉

  • As a general rule, we operate on a 10+1 hour shooting schedule, 10 hours of work plus a 1-hour meal break.

The standard working week consists of 5 shooting days, with two days off, allowing for efficient yet sustainable production planning.

That said, flexibility is key in the industry. Depending on the project’s needs, alternative schedules can be arranged, including:

    • Night Shoots: When required for specific scenes.

    • Extended Hours or 6-Day Weeks: Possible with prior agreement and proper crew arrangements.

    • Public Holidays & Weekends: Work is possible, but additional costs may apply.

Our goal is to maintain a professional, efficient, and well-structured production environment while ensuring the best results for your shoot.
